One thing I was hoping one of the books would get into is some of your thoughts on heaven and hell. I see that your next book will deal with that but I'm wondering if you could suggest some books or articles that express a view point that is similar to yours. I grew up in a Mennonite church and so the view on hell was taken quite literally. To make my question shorter - I want desparately to believe that hell is not a firy pit where some of my friends will spend eternity but when I read the verses that talk about hell it seems as though that's what it is. Some people say that the flames are just an 'illustration' of how terrible it will be to live in a world without God. What do you say about this?
Thanks for taking the time to read. I try to pray for you as often as I can - I just looked at your schedule and I don't know how you do it man! I pray that God will give you wisdom in your writing, pastoring (?), family life and most of all, in your walk with Jesus!
Wow! Thanks for your prayers. That means a lot to me! I couldn’t do what I’m doing without special grace … so thanks. The third book will deal with all this – and it will be out in late March. If you’re looking for something good to read before then, let me recommend Jan Bonda’s “The One Purpose of God,” or “What Does the Bible Really Say About Hell?” by Klassen.
